Heritage Quiz

Heritage Quiz is a friendly competition that aims to give kids the platform to learn about our rich Indian culture right from the ancient times to our modern present day. The Quiz competition that will not just challenge your knowledge of India but kindle the joy of research, pride in knowledge and the thrill of winning. We hope this competition is just a start in the lives of your young'uns and of their quest to know more about the great land and its traditions, culture and the great men that lived and live to this day.

We provide the study material for the quiz in the form of flash cards and fun games (Refer to topics for link). The kids have to just bring their curiosity and eagerness to learn!

Age Categories

  • JUNIORS - Grades: 2-5

  • SENIORS - Grades: 6-8

Topics

Guidelines

Juniors (1 round - WRITTEN)

  1. This is a written round.

  2. All the participants will be given a set of questions to answer. 

  3. The questions will be from the preparation material. The questions may be worded differently but the content will be from the preparation material except for tie-breaker (see last point).

  4. The questions will be Multiple Choice.

  5. As the questions are being read, the participants need to write down the Choice as their answer.

  6. These will then be graded by the team of judges to decide the top 3.

  7. If there is a tie, then questions not present in the Question Bank but within the boundary of the Quiz Topics may be used to break the tie.

SENIORS (2 rounds - WRITTEN & VERBAL)

Prelim (WRITTEN ROUND)

  1. All the participants will be given a set of questions to answer. 

  2. The questions will be Multiple Choice, one word/phrase Q&A or True/False Q&A.

  3. The questions will be from the preparation material. The questions may be worded differently but the content will be from the preparation material except for tie-breaker (see last point).

  4. As the questions are being read, the participants need to write down the answer (choice, one word/phrase, True or False).

  5. These will then be graded by the team of judges to decide the top 8 who will move to the next round.

  6. Top 8 participants will be identified to qualify and they will proceed to the Final round.

  7. If there is a tie, then questions not present in the Question Bank but within the boundary of the Quiz Topics may be used to break the tie.

FINALS (ON-STAGE - VERBAL ROUND)

  1. The Top 8 participants will be divided into teams of 2 each (total 4 teams) and will participate in the finals. 

  2. Finals will consist of 4-5 rounds.

  3. Questions will be from the listed quiz topics but may be worded differently.

  4. Note: For heritage words, the participants are expected to know the word and the meaning. They will not be asked to spell or pronounce the word correctly.

  5. If there is a tie, then questions not present in the Question Bank but within the boundary of the Quiz Topics may be used to break the tie.

  6. If there is a tie, then 

    1. Each team will be asked a question in a round robin fashion

    2. If a team passes, the next team will get a chance to answer

    3. Whichever team gets two consecutive questions right will be declared the winning team.
